The Tracks at Brea Trail Receives Multiple Awards

The Tracks at Brea trail has quickly become a staple within the Brea community. People of all ages are enjoying its bike trail, pedestrian path and fitness stations. The Tracks’ relaxing atmosphere is supported by seating areas with shade structures, along with butterfly gardens and low water landscaping. Brea’s trail provides something for everyone to enjoy.

Since its opening, The Tracks at Brea has received multiple awards, including:

• Outstanding Bikeways & Trails Project for Orange County by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in February of 2018.
• The Honor Award in the transportation category from the American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) of Southern California. Of 105 award entries, only 12 projects received an Honor Award, which is considered 1st place. Criteria included quality of design, functionalism, promoting quality of life, environmental responsibility and sustainability.
• Best Recreation and Athletic Facilities for agencies with up to 50,000 residents by the American Public Works (APWA) of Southern California.

The Tracks at Brea trail consists of a four-mile long multi-use trail and linear park that traverses the City from east to west. The trail features a two-way paved bikeway and a separate pedestrian footpath, providing an opportunity to make easy connections across town. It is an attractive option for public access to the Brea Senior Center and the Brea Boys and Girls Club, as well as six area schools, Downtown Brea, Brea Mall, the Brea Community Center, City parks, shopping and numerous employers. Interpretive signs along the trail offer information and photographs of the area’s history.  Encompassing about 50 total acres of linear open space, The Tracks also offers local green space within the Brea community.

The Tracks at Brea is part of the OC Loop, a 66-mile connection of trails around Orange County.
