A small group of artists are invited to meditate on the beauty of the natural world, and humanity’s impact on the planet. Exploring themes ranging from the harmonious relationships humans have with nature to the disastrous effects of global warming and pollution. This charged and evolving dialog between the assembled exhibiting artists gives us new perspectives on the world around us, hopefully guiding visitors to look more closely at their relationship with our planet.

Every year, this juried exhibit showcases artwork from all over the state of California. MICA strives to highlight artists in all stages of their careers and offers them a chance to compete for a number of awards, including the coveted solo show opportunity. This regional show features artwork from an extensive variety of mediums and explores creative movements happening in California.

Filled to the brim with the most brightly colored, joyous, pop-culture-nostalgic artwork to be found, this syrupy sweet exhibit is sure to leave the 90s kids of Lisa Frank with a real sugar rush. Exploring the contemporary resurgences of pop art, super-saturated color, low-brow subject matter, and surrealism, this art show showcases everything from the downright adorable to the creepy cute, guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face.
