After School Program 2023-2024

About the Program

Parent packets will be available at the Community Center front desk the first week of July.

The Brea Community Center offers a comprehensive after school program (ASP) for elementary aged students* during the academic school year. ASP runs Monday-Friday from 2:30 to 6 p.m.** Program begins August 15 and ends May 30.*** Participants will enjoy an assortment of structured activities that include gym activities, arts and crafts projects, and outdoor activities. Participants also can get involved in cooking clubs, group activities, and special presentations. In addition, the café offers snacks at a reasonable price. 

A daily walk is provided from Laurel Magnet Elementary School. All other school transportation is separate and handled through the Brea Resource Center. Contact the Resource Center at 714-990-7150 for more information. Transportation applications will be available June 1. 

*Participants must attend a Brea school or live in Brea.

**ASP will be open from 1:30 - 6 p.m. on Wednesdays to accommodate for the BOUSD’s early release days. The After School Program is only open on BOUSD school days. 

***There is no program on the last BOUSD school day, May 31, 2024. 

Costs

Annual registration is only $750* if paid in full, upfront. An auto-debit payment plan is offered $780. Payment plan is $150 at registration plus 7 monthly auto-debit payments of $90.  

AM KINDER

Participants in AM kinder have the opportunity to start ASP at their release time of 11:30 a.m. or later. Pick-up for AM kinder is only available to Laurel school participants. Other AM kinder participants must have their own transportation to the Community Center. 

AM Kinder is available annually for $ 1,000 if paid in full, upfront. An auto-debit payment plan is offered for $1,030. Payment plan is $155 at registration plus 7 monthly auto-debit payments of $125. 

Registration Begins July 19, 2023

This hugely popular program always fills to capacity. Participant registration must be done in person by a parent or guardian at the Community Center front desk. 

Parent Packets must be filled out and turned in at the time of registration.

The After School Program follows the BOUSD schedule. We are closed on all non-school days. On days when the school district is not in session for teacher conferences or those in-between holidays, parents who still need to be at work may find that Kid Care Solutions can handle their day care needs. Please note Kid Care Solutions is a separate program and subject to their own registration and fees.
