ACGA Clay and Glass National Juried Exhibition 2013
The Clay and Glass National Juried Exhibition was on display from January 26 to March 1, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, January 26th. The City of Brea Art Gallery and the Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California paired up to present this dazzling display of blown, stained, and mixed media glass works, in addition to hand-built and wheel-thrown ceramics. This exhibition featured functional, conceptual, and installation art. This year’s Juror, Carol Sauvion, is the Executive Producer of the PBS series Craft in America. Screenings of the processes for both mediums were shown.
28th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition
The 28th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition was on display from March to May 3, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday March 23rd. An annual tradition, this exhibition is a survey of works by artists living in California and is open to all mediums. A window to the expansive talent present in the Golden State, it was one of the year’s most stunning shows. Juror Meg Linton, Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at Otis College of Art and Design in LA, selected 100 works of art from over 650 entries.
The PaperWorks Exhibtion was on display from June 1 to July 7, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 1st. This exciting show highlighted artwork made from all forms of paper and was a fresh look at the potential of paper. Ranging from installation work, collage, origami, and paper-mache, this exhibition was a unique collection of work that begs to be explored.
Colored Pencil Society of America
The 21st Annual Colored Pencil Society of America International Juried Exhibition was on display from July 31 to September 13, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, August 3rd. This exhibit was a showcase of exquisite works done solely in colored pencil. The exhibition complimented the CPSA’s Annual Conference, which took place at the Embassy Suites hotel next to the gallery. The exhibit consisted of works selected by this year’s juror Danielle Susalla Deery, of the Oceanside Museum of Art.
45th Annual Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition
The 45th Annual Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition was on display from October 12 to December 15, 2013, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 12th. This continued partnership with Watercolor West International featured 100 works selected by Juror Ratindra Das from over 1,000 entries worldwide.
