Anseong, Republic of Korea
Anseong is a community located south of Seoul that has grown continuously with consolidations of former smaller enclaves. The population is around 300,000. Notable for its expert brass production and quality arts and crafts production, Anseong calls itself the “City of Masters.” In addition to the visual arts, the city stakes a claim in performance art as well. In 2012, Anseong proudly hosted a prominent international folk dancing event that is only held every four years.
Following several successful adult exchange visits, Korean students came to the US in summer of 2013 and the initial Brea student group visited in summer of 2014.
