Please note: The City of Brea is no longer accepting in person plan submittals. Please see the options below.
Permit Applications
Permit Applications shall be submitted online to breafirepermits@cityofbrea.net along with plans in a PDF format. Payment will be taken over the phone by credit card. Please note: Permit processing has transferred to the Community Development Building and Safety Division. Please allow 3 to 5 business days from date of submittal for processing. Once the permit has been processed and paid, plans will be routed to the Fire Department for review. A current business license is required before approved plans can be picked up. Please obtain or renew your business license by clicking on the link.
Special Events
If you are hosting a special event such as a company picnic, employee appreciation, car show, or church event, please fill out this Special Events Permit Application and submit with event layout including proposed locations of tables and chairs, tents/canopies, cooking area and other proposed items related to the event. Submit the application and layout to breafirepermits@cityofbrea.net.
Larger events will also require a Temporary Use Permit to be submitted to the Planning Department.
Candle/Open Flame Permit
Candle/Open Flame Permits can be emailed to breafirepermits@cityofbrea.net. Once submitted and paid, you will be contacted by a fire staff member to schedule an appointment for a candle test, if needed.
Permit Status
General turnaround is usually 10 business days depending on the number of plans ahead of you. If you need to check on plan check status email breafirepermits@cityofbrea.net .
Information (Public Records) Requests
Information Request Forms can be emailed to FDRecords@cityofbrea.net It may take up to 10 business days from the day we receive your request to respond to you. If approved, you will be emailed the files
Incident Requests
Request for Incident Report Forms can be emailed to FDrecords@cityofbrea.net. It may take up to 10 business days from the day we receive your request to respond to you. The information will be mailed or emailed depending on the type of documents.
