[ARCHIVED] Holiday Giving a Brea Community Tradition
The Brea Resource Center takes a lead to assist families and individuals who need a little help to get by. During the holidays, the community’s generosity makes a real difference to brighten their outlook. There are several great ways to give!
The Brea Resource Center is underway with their Holiday Wish Program. A tree decorated with request tags is located at the Brea Community Center. The BRC seeks donations of various gift cards for items such as grocery, restaurant and retail cards, haircuts, auto services and more. These provide much needed support now as well as into the months ahead. Questions: 714-990-7150.
Non- perishable foods are collected by the Brea Community Emergency Council, a local non-profit. Boxes are located at schools and various city facilities for donations of canned and dry food goods. These will be sorted and distributed to deserving, pre-qualified households on December 17. Checks can be payable to: BCEC at PO Box 8624, Brea, CA 92822. Questions: 714-337-7666.
Finally, Brea Fire stations and City facilities will accept toys, games and sporting goods for the Spark of Love/ Toys for Tots campaign. As needed, some of these donations are combined with food baskets distributed to Brea families with children in the household.
