A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2 until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5 in Brea and most inland areas. Strong winds and very low relative humidity values will lead to widespread critical fire weather. Winds could be damaging, with potential to knock down trees and power lines.
Due to these weather conditions, Southern California Edison may need to shut off power (a Public Safety Power Shutoff or PSPS) to electrical circuits in High Fire Risk Areas (HFRA) serving portions of Brea, particularly Carbon Canyon on the east end of the city. SCE is notifying customers on the affected circuits about the potential for shutoff, giving them time to prepare.
