On Monday, September 8, remediation construction begins for segment 3 of The Tracks at Brea Trail between Brea Boulevard and State College Boulevard. This first phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year. For public safety, the work area will be fenced off as soil grading and cleaning proceeds.
Once remediation is completed for this segment, additional construction will follow early in 2015 for phase two improvements such as the paved bicycle trail, pedestrian path and landscaping. At completion, the combined segments for The Tracks at Brea Trail will cross the city from east to west over a four-mile stretch. Various segments are being developed as grant money is awarded to the project. To date, over $9 million has been received.
