The Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition marks its 30th Anniversary at the Brea Art Gallery from March 28 - May 8. This exhibition builds upon a proud tradition with even more awards, special honors, and a fun look back at previous years.
The Brea Art Gallery’s longest running show will once again feature selected artists working in all mediums and at every stage of their career. This exhibit is well known for highlighting both established artists, as well as emerging artists from across the State of California.
An opening reception will kick off the new Made in California exhibition on Saturday, March 28, from 7-9 p.m. The celebration will include an awards ceremony, plus a live DJ and refreshments. Many current exhibiting artists will be joined by previous years’ award winners, jurors and prior participants to reminisce about how much this show has evolved and gained prestige over three decades.
The 2015 edition of Made in California will also add a Critic’s Choice Award, nominated by a member of the press, and an OC Fan Favorite Award, nominated by the exhibition visitors. The 2015 winner of the Solo Show award is Kim Cantley, from Tustin. She will feature her Graphite and Charcoal Drawing Series on Watercolor Paper.
The Brea Art Gallery is located in the Brea Civic & Cultural Center at 1 Civic Center Circle, Plaza Level. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m., closed Monday, Tuesday and holidays. Admission is $2 and Brea residents are free.
