A Brea Senior Center parking lot construction project begins this week to install ADA improvements in the parking lot at the front entrance and to upgrade the shuttle area. A re-designed configuration will make access to the facility easier for shuttle service passengers and others with mobility needs. Also, a new canopy, flagpole and benches provided through a Brea Rotary Club donation will add comfort to the waiting area.
Parking in front of the Center will be impacted during the construction process, which is anticipated to be complete in August. Senior Center patrons, Boys & Girls Club members and visitors to either Pioneer Hall, Arovista Park or the Skate Park are urged to first use marked public parking spaces to the south side of the Senior Center. Parking along neighborhood streets is discouraged unless these other public spaces are already full.
All motorists are reminded to slow down and drive with caution near the Elm Street and Sievers Avenue corner. Please be alert for traffic direction, and remember that pedestrians will include both seniors and children who may need extra time to navigate around the barriers.
Questions about parking may be directed to Tim Takahashi at 714-990-7750. For project information, please call Amber Ahlo at 714-990-7226.
