In the 12-week Citizens Academy, participants will learn about the history of the Police Department, Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, police firearms, defensive weapons, K9 Officers, the SWAT Team, Emergency and Pursuit Driving, What a Patrol Officer does, What a Detective does, Officer Safety Tactics, Narcotics, Juvenile and Gang Investigations, and more. Participants will also get to have a ride-along with a Patrol Officer and a night shooting at the range.
